Professional Career Institute was established in 1995 and started operations effectively in 1996. PCI began offering courses initially in Real Estate Salesperson and Broker pre-licensing and continuing education.
By the end of 1996, the school was approved by New York State Insurance Department to offer classes in Life, Accident and Health pre-licensing and continuing education for agents and brokers licensees.
In February 1997, PCI received its license as a trade school from the New York State Education Department.
PCI now offers other courses designed to develop skills in business management and operations of small to medium-size entities. PCI does offer management training to large companies in a consultative capacity as well as in large scale group seminar and workshops.
PCI, is closely held, and a minority-owned business. PCI is a Certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE).
The school has been providing training to individuals, families and businesses since its inception. The list of mainstream insurance companies and brokerage firms, banks and other entitites where the students come from to attend the pre-licensing and continuing education courses is very extensive.The list includes AFLAC, Prudential, New York Life, Metlife, Chase, AXA, Chase Manhattan, TD Bank, Astoria Federal, Capital One, Coface, Citibank, First National Administrators, Affiliated, Nationwide, TBH Insurance,
